Snickerdoodles
3-1/4 cups Sifted All-Purpose Flour
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 cup (2 sticks) Butter
1-1/2 cups Sugar
3 Eggs, well beaten
1 cup Hickory Nuts or Walnuts, coarsely chopped
1/2 cup Currants
1/2 cup Raisins, chopped
Sift together Flour, Salt, Baking Soda and Cinnamon. Set
aside. Work Butter until creamy, then add Sugar, a little at a time,
beating until smooth. Beat in Eggs thoroughly. Stir in Flour
combination, Nuts, Currants and Raisins. Drop from a teaspoon onto a
greased cookie sheet about 1 inch apart, and bake in a preheated 350°
oven for 12 to 14 minutes. Cookies keep well in an airtight container.
